What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The owners don’t like tracking tools, but sometimes they look after how many visitors requested the website, what kind of articles are more requested than others, from where the users accessed our website. Single users are not interesting for us. This interest do we interprete as the in the European Privacy Regulation mentioned “legitimate interest” – concrete Art. 6 – EU-GDPR – Lawfulness of Processing.
We are using the web-fonts of Google Fonts. By every request of our website the Google Fonts page is automatically requested and Google Fonts collects IP-Adressen of their users. This seems not to be connected with other Google services.
Our hosting service provider Strato AG is offering logfiles (which are standard in webhosting services). Logfile data are automatically saved any time when somebody is accessing a page. They collect when a user is accessing a html or image file. Based on these data the owner of the website might receive statistic information. Our logfiles follow the standard, the Apache Combined Log Format, including the following information:
- Anonymized client IP: For finding out, from where users access our service we collect IP adresses. Strato AG saves them maximum 7 days, after this period they becoime anonymized. From data protection reasons, the owner is from the begin on only authorized to see them in an anomyzed form.
- Timestamp: At what day to what time a visitor opened a website.
- Request-line: The path to the goal-address without the domain. If a user is clicking on a picture behind this behind this is in example the URL “MeineWebsite.de/bild.jpg“.
- Status Code: Maybe you have seen a 404 page. This is always shown if a requested page or file cannot be found on the server. 404 is the status code. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority has defined some more status codes relevant for failure analysis: In example 200 means “OK” – a user was able to receive the requested page or file.
- Size of the response body: If a user is requesting our website they are downloading temporary data, in example pictures or texts in their browser. The logfile shows how big these data are.
- Referer sent from the client: Shows from where a visitor accessed our service.
- User Agent sent by the client: The user’s type and version of the browser and operating system.
- Remote User: Usually empty. Strato AG is saving data only then, if somebody is logging into our website on the basis of http-basicauth. This is a not state-of-the-art procedure for user authentification. In the meantime most websites use javascript approachs not logging remote users.
Some of the in the following mentioned aspects might be not relevant to you as we don’t use tracking or other analytical tools. But you never know if not thanks to polugins or content from other parties strange things happen. We herewth explain that we try to use only such plugins conform with data security standards
Embedded content from other websites
Contributes on this website might include embedded content (in example videos or pictures). Embedded content is behaving as if the visitor would have visited the other website. These websites might collect data, use cookies, embed third party tracking services and register your activity via the embedded content, if you have an account and are logged in to such a website.
You might protect yourself with a browser plugin against such tracking, in example by installing the phantastic Ghostery.
With whom we share your data
We don’t share personal data received through the website with third parties (in example via contact form received messages) Except if you would especially asks us for doing so or allows us to share these informations (in example in an email request for contacting you with DARE people).
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Log in, registrations and how long we retain your data
One might use the website without registration and log in.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
If you leave us a message via a contact form, our server is sending the included information not encrypted. If you would like to send us information in a more confidential way, than we propose you to try this with en email address and email program of your choice.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
